Questions, insights and discussions are written to an append-only ledger — your level and total are computed from those entries, never stored as a number somebody can edit. Your profile is a consequence of your work rather than a description of it.
What counts
What earns XP, and how much:
Questions
+5 XPRecorded in your XP ledger when a question is asked.
Insights
+25 XPRecorded when an insight is published. The thing this product exists to collect.
Discussions
+10 XPRecorded when a discussion is started: a thread that is not a question.
Comments
+3 XPRecorded for each comment. Small, and it counts, because most contribution is small.
Signing up awards 100 XP. Daily caps apply per action, so a busy day counts and a scripted one does not.
Where it is
Early, and honest about it. In the app today you can make an account, claim competencies and have others vouch for them, see your rank (claimed and verified), keep notes, and keep your CVs, experience, education, goals and development plans. Questions, insights, discussions and comments are recorded in your XP ledger today; pages to browse them are not built yet. Achievements, leaderboards, the CV builder and paid tiers are designed and not built — when they exist, they will be described here and not before.
